Hello

I'am working since a long time on a painting of Titanic during its final plunge at 2.17. A.M.
In this case,i have a question about the Reciprocating Engine Room Casing on the Boat Deck. .... on several original Titanic photos, one can see these casings relatively closed, but one the famous Ken Marschall Painting from 1974, showing the final plunge, they are opened. Is this historically correct? Where they opened to ventilate the Engine Room?
Do we have any indications to that point?

Best regards,
Manuel

Just to be clear, you're talking about the deckhouse with the eight skylights, located between the third and fourth funnels, correct? The one also labeled as "tank room" on some plans?
