Ormiston House was a fine property indeed brought of his ex boss Mr E Harland. That where he should of been whilst the building the Olympic class ships where in progress. The luxury house in London. A 11 bedroom Downshire House No 24 Belgrave Square next to Buckingham property is now the Spanish Embassy. Witley Park is in Surrey near Godalming an expensive country side area outside of London. Alexander Carlisle sister Pirrie wife Eliza would write letters to him telling what a wonderful live of luxury they had in England. As for Alexander he would be in the thick of it. Noisy riveting could been heard miles away from the two shipyards. Burning coal was a dirty filthy air polluting. Thank god we have got rid of it now.

It was the last time I went to the exhibit. But that was when it was at the Rio before they moved the exhibit to the Luxor. They were moving artifacts around to different places but that might be permanent in Vegas now given its size. Probably should go again as it's only an hour away now with the new road.
As for Belfast I've only been there a couple of times. Liked it both times as no hassles and everybody I met there was friendly. It's not a resort town by no means but that's ok. Never cared for those anyway. I would go back there anytime. London on the other hand you can keep.
P.S. I understand what people say about cutting into the wreck. I get it and don't fault that position at all. Only thing is that nature is already doing it.
How many different Titanic exhibits were there in pre-pandemic Las Vegas to you knowledge Steve ?

I might be wrong but I think they have one of the Titanic's whistles there as well ?

Re: London. I've got friends who love a long weekend trip down there and I've got other friends who never want to go back.

Have you ever been to Portsmouth, Plymouth or Southampton at all ?

3 altogether. The first exhibit was at the Tropicana hotel and then it moved to the Rio hotel casino. I went to both of those and they were quite good. It was set up better at the Rio. Then they moved it to the Luxor but I haven't been to that one. Sure I will sometime when this C19 thing is over. Vegas (the strip that is) is a ghost town compared to what it normally was. I've been to Southampton but was only there for a day. Saw all the (well most) of the Titanic related stuff there. It was a good day. I don't recall all the artifacts they had at the exhibits but they had quite a lot. Well worth going if you get the chance. I don't like knocking other peoples cities but as for London I saw what I wanted to see but have no desire to go back. Besides most of the supercities are all pretty much the same now. They've morphed into something I don't even know how to describe. Mc'Donalds and Burger King everywhere now.

You might a bit of hard polishing with Brasso polish!
One trick I learned in the navy that I still use today...to clean dirty/oxidized brass...Tabasco sauce. It really works. But back to articles to be saved a bed would probably be last on my list. Don't see it ever happening but if unlimited resources were available maybe one of the propellers.

true, especially since a lot of the brass beds are still within the wreck.

Maybe I'd go for a tile, I liked that Dining Saloon one I found :)
