Although there most likely won't be another Titanic, could you build replicas of some other famous ships of the past? With the Titanic you're restricted by safety laws, but what about the Andrea Doria or Normandie?
Not likely. If you were talking about a small vessel, like one of the first stem packets, it might be a possibility. Unfortunately, for a larger vessel, you're still talking about a massive capital investment on a ship that still wouldn't meet current SOLAS and environmental regulations which would go nowhere.
I'd rather the money go to preservation of existing ships of authentic historical interest which could really use the financial support, but that's just me.
