The R.M.S Segwun is the oldest operating steam ship in Canada and is based a Gravenhurst Ontario and was originally built in 1887 as a paddle steam called the Nispissing (The actual name I looked it up on wikipedia). It was converted to the Segwun a twin screw propeller driven ship. It was remodelled to it's current form in 1946-7 and it's fire fighting equipment was ungraded in 1949-50 after the SS Noronic fire. She was retired in 1958 and laid up as a museum ship in Gravenhurst. It's fleet mate Sagamo docked beside her as a floating restaurant caught fire and sank, thankfully the Segwun was unharmed. From 1972-1981 the Segwun was restored to operational status and sailed on 27th June 1981. Today she still sails on short sightseeing cruises as well Lunch and sunset dinner cruise. Operated by the Muskoka steamships and discovery centre still with Canada post R.M.S prefix. Also in 2001 and 2002 she was voted Best Large attraction by Attractions Canada. all info was from wikipedia however there is website direct link from there.
