I wondered...were the rooms of the Lusitania repositioned/modified/enhanced in any way or were they left intact?

The only thing I know to have changed other than the paint job, is that there was a structure built on the poop deck that resembled a tent frame.

There were severe alterations made over the years: some cosmetic (such as the elaborate refurbishing of the initially spartan Verandah Cafe) and others practical (stiffening kept being added to the aft section of the ship to reduce vibration, which made the second class public rooms progressively less spacious) More suites were added to First Class, and I may be mistaken but I think additional private bathrooms were as well.

And for the last voyage- some 1st class staterooms were used for the 2nd class passengers.
