Seeking Descendants of Titanic Survivors Aided by HIAS

I am writing on behalf of HIAS, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. We are hoping to speak with the descendants of the 22 Titanic survivors who were temporarily housed and given money for travel by our agency upon the Carpathia's arrival in New York. At the time, HIAS was also known as the Hebrew Sheltering Arms Society.

We are hoping that people will share their parents' and grandparents' recollections with us, to be used in a large project commemmorating our 120th anniversary. The stories may be used in a book, on our website, or incorporated into a feature story for the media. Please don't hesitate to contact me with your thoughts or questions.

Thank you,
Kathleen Andersen

Kathleen-I'll be glad to help you with this information--I can give you most of what you need. Several like Cohen and Trembiskey have no living heirs, others like Mary Joseph, and Eugenie Baclini died very young but still have relatives living.
