Shared Cabins In First Class

I know it was common for strangers to share multi capacity rooms in Third and Second Class. Were these rooms in First Class also shared by strangers?

Generally no as this was avoided whenever possible, however if 1st class was booked out, sometimes passengers did have to share cabins with strangers.

So that was a perk of 1st Class? No shared cabins? In 2nd Class cabins were shared as a matter of routine, correct?

Correct.

In the 1920's Olympic was quite popular and 1st class passengers often found that they had to share cabins with strangers. I'm sure it would have been the same thing on Olympic before the war as well.
