Shoes

I'm looking for 1912 - style shoes, and the only things I seem to be able to come up with are either custom-made jobbies at $450.00 a pop - a tad high for my tastes - or tap shoes, which at least have the proper Louis heel and are pretty close to what was worn. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is to try to find a surviving pair of the real thing. Vintage clothing can be found at antique shops, Ebay, etc. However, this is likely to be a time consuming, hit or miss kind of a search as to condition, size, style, and availability in general, as I'm sure you already know.

If it were me, I'd go with the tap shoes for now and save up for a pair of the custom mades.

Lee, if you can tell me what you want, I have one or two advertisements for contemporary shoes somewhere in my ragbag. I especially recall French shoes for women, said to be in the latest style.
