Showers on Lucy

I am spending another New Year's with the flu and have been reading mystery novels. I just finished "Murder on the Lusitania" by Max Allan Collins. Now he has his main character return to his cabin and "take a refreshing shower" Now my somewhat dim knowledge of liners withstanding, I don't recall showers being a feature. Especially a private one in a room. Am I wrong here?

Dear Bonnie-Lynn,

As it so happens there were showers on board the LUSITANIA. They were mounted over a bathtub and Dr Robert ballard found one during his 1993 mission to the wrecksite. Check out the pictures in pp. 172-3 in Exploring the Lusitania.

cheers
Martin

Bonnie,

I came across interior photos of First Class cabins on the Lusi in "Exploring the Lusitania" and one of the photos clearly show the showers in the private baths.

Thanks,

Brian
