Hi,

I am a historian who specialises in Southampton after the Titanic and research into the crew. After completing my history degree I re-trained as a journalist and now work for ITV. I prepared the exhibition on the crew in Southampton for the 95th anniversary and am now working on a series of special programmes for ITV for the 100th anniversary next year.

To that end I would like to get in touch with any descendants of crew members from Southampton who would be interested in taking part in these programmes. They will be aired monthly on the local news programme ITV Meridian. If you are interested please do not hesitate to get in touch with me at [email protected]

The first programme I am putting together at the moment focuses on the different reactions to the disaster in Canada and Southampton. I know from previous research that some descendents did receive personal effects from those who were given a sea burial by the SS Mackay Bennett or who were buried in Halifax. I would be particularly interested in speaking to anyone who knows that happend to their family.

Thank you
