HI its good but one mistake "She soon was showing her age, and began to have mechanical problems in late 1956. At age 52, she was certainly the oldest of the United States Lines fleet." If she was 52 years old in 1956, it would have been built in 1904 not 1914.- Tom

My family was on the Liberty from Southampton
to New York City in July 1954.

Hello John! I believe you are probably referring to the Liberté, which sailed for the French Line between 1950 and 1961. The liner "Liberty" mentioned throughout this thread is a fictional ship.
