The Haltwhistle Connection

When I was in Haltwhistle last week for the auction of the Olympic fittings from the former Akzo Nobel paint factory, I purchased the archive of correspondence relating to the Olympic fittings. Among the letters were several written during the summer of 1995 from Cyberflix Inc. asking for assistance from the factory in making "Titanic: Adventure Out of Time" They make fascinating reading. The game's creators eventually visited the factory and the Olympic fittings were used as a basis for some of the graphics you see in the game.

This perhaps explains why one of the characters in the game says "We're the Gorse-Jones' from Haltwhistle". She sounded very posh and Southern English for Haltwhistle: where they speak with Geordie accents!!

I have scanned a copy of the 'Thank You' letter the game's writer/producer Andrew Nelson wrote to the factory after his visit
