A new book released by our public library titled "Futurist" (Rebecca Keegan). Nearly ten pages delve into Cameron's dives to Titanic. Included is one harrowing account where the MIR submersible, with Sagalovith at the controls for an ascent to the ocean surface, the submersible kept getting pushed back down from 80' to the sea-bottom. Turned out it was a heavy underwater current, toppling over Titanic's fore section, then catching the MIR ascending from the portside sediment bottom...pretty much holding them down.
Cameron suspected a posible ten hour ascent...turned out to be only five hours, wheras a typical ascent being 2 1/2 hrs.
