This past April, a documentary on Titanic: Adventure Out Of Time was released. It provides a really good insight, into how the game was created and why Cyberflix went out of business soon after. Definitely worth watching:

In recent years, there have been many retellings of the Titanic’s maiden voyage. Yet, none have ever felt as haunting as Cyberflix’s 1996 masterpiece, Titanic: Adventure Out of Time. The 1996 classic transports you into a bygone era, making you feel like you are fighting against time itself.
The Titanic was the largest ship to date when it set off from Southampton on April 10, 1912, bound for New York City. The Titanic carried people from all walks of life. The passenger list included aristocracy, immigrants looking for a new start, and everyone in between. Unfortunately, the ensuing disaster that followed took many lives.

I used to have the CD-ROM of Titanic - Adventure Out of Time in the 90s. If I recall correctly, it played with Windows 95 but when I upgraded to Windows 98, there were issues. What does it mean "the game is still playable?"
Also, is there something similar to the old Cameron's Titanic Explorer? I found it informative during the Windows 95 days but it did not play afterwards. Is there a similar "game" or source that can be played with Windows 10 and above?

Would dearly love to fire up Titanic Explorer again. Loved it. Still got my discs but haven't had a machine compatible with them for about twelve years. Never had the heart to get rid of them.

I still have my Titanic: Adventure Out of Time CD-ROM's which I happened to purchase, at the Titanic Artifact Exhibition that I co-ran 22 years ago. I can play the game on my desktop, which is running the latest version of Windows 10. Here's a patch for the game which allows it to be played on modern PC's: Play Titanic: Adventure Out of Time

No there isn't a similar game to James Cameron's Titanic Explorer. I loved playing it and still have it. In fact, I have another two Titanic CD-ROM's (Total Titanic A Night to Remember and Titanic: An Interactive Journey, which is based on the Senate Inquiry). I won't get rid of them. Here's a patch for Titanic Explorer: James Cameron's Titanic Explorer on modern operating systems
I have yet to try and install it on my desktop, however.

Yes you can do that as well. The game can also be downloaded on Steam or GOG Titanic: Adventure Out Of Time on Steam

It does cost money, however. From what I've read and IIRC, GOG provides the full game (including the tour version), whereas Steam does not.

I can now confirm that the patch for James Cameron's Titanic Explorer, works. It is running smoothly on my desktop.

Thanks Jason. the big question now is where I have stashed away those two CD-ROMs. Here in the UK, our penthouse has a massive hidden storage space in the eaves we call the "Man Cave". I suspect that they are somewhere there in a carboard box. I don't think I took them to India.
I'll reserve this coming weekend for the search. The wife, who I am sure has some tasks reserved for me, will not be pleased and I can expect some fireworks.

It's unfortunate that my current PC can't play the Titanic CD-ROMs anymore. What's even more disappointing that I wasn't even around to buy Titanic: An Interactive Journey and Titanic Explorer.
