The 3 robbers escaped and barricaded themselves in a house and, by superior firepower and marksmanship, kept the London Police and a British Army Detachment at bay for almost 6 hours. The surrounded house was consumed by fire, in the ashes two bodies were found, the whereabouts of the 3rd Anarchist remains a mystery to this day.
