This is a fascinating book written in 1912. I believe it may be the precursor to those "instant books" that we see so often. The accounts in the book are all first person, and there are many photographs and drawings. It is interesting to read this book knowing what we know now about the disaster. I received this book from a family friend over 40 years ago, and it got me started on my interest in the Titanic. I believe reprints are available in book stores, but there is nothing to match the original.

It is probably not necessary to warn anybody about this, but there is a copy of Logan Marshall's edition of "The Sinking of the Titanic and Great Sea Disasters" advertised on eBay (#429848866, closing Sept. 15th) for the astronomical price of $9000. It is offered by a first time seller, who does not even have pictures of it. If you're new to collecting old Titanic books, BEWARE. This book should probably sell for $90, if that.

Why buy? Logan Marshall is free online at the Gutenberg Project. Mowbray is about somewhere too, but I don't have the URL.
