Hello Jim, I love your historical premise: gold to Russia, tons of the stuff, world peace. And, of course, you are indeed spot-on regarding the Tsar's financial condition. There is an amazing set of parallels between your "not a true story but one based on facts," and my true story based entirely on facts! Is your book the parallel in the Titanic arena to the fictional The Wreck of the Titan, in the case of the Republic? This is very strange indeed!

Hello Martin.

Thanks! No, my book came from a simple statement by Greaser Gill of the SS Californian. I was curious as to why he was not allowed to smoke in the forecastle accomodation next to No.1 Hatch so I wove the story round that and the sworn evidence of the crew of SS Californian. I flavoured it with some memory re-call of my time on the North Atlantic run.. on the exact same route many years ago.

I am also extremely interested in clearing the name of Captain Stanley Lord because I believe he was and still is wrongly judged.

My next book deals with Titanic's navigation errors in the same way.

Jim C.
