Mudd, Mr. Thomas C. Missing. Home address - Mrs. T. Mudd, Huntingfield, Near Halesworth, Suffolk. Aged 16 years.
Insurance claim B92 $400 filed by mother. Claim C44 Life $20,000. Property $400 both filed by mother.

Thomas Mudd, a letter from his nephew says that the lad was just sixteen years old and one of a family of thirteen children. In order to give him a chance of a better life he was sent to American to join his brothers George and James who were already established over there. The nephew says that Thomas's mother was very well looked after by the White Star Line until her death.
The following letter was sold at Onslows 1998 Auction at the Hilton Hotel Southampton for ££3,600 - Lot 126.
The letter is addressed to: Mrs. Thomas Mudd, The Street, Hunting Field, Halesworth, Suffolk.
It reads:
Dear Mother, Arrived at Southampton safe - The Titanic is a splendid boat and you hardly know you are moving. Will write more fully later Your loving Son Tom.
PS Please send Edie's address also send He (sic) this card as I do not know it''.
