Hello Diane,
Yes, this is the chair I acquired from an auctioneer on Nantucket in 1998.

Ralph~
Thanks! I watched that TV special and was captivated by your travels etc to find out the chair's provenance! If I may ask, why is Ship of Dreams letting it go?
Ahoy!

Diane,
We had a lease with them, the contract ended and we asked for the chair back.

Hello:

I am not sure if this UPDATE on the Titanic Deck Chair was covered amongst a different topic or not...the Associated Press reports the aforementioned ( R. Cook ) deck chair recently fetched at auction, a sum of $44,000.

IMHO this suggests that the provenance of which Mr. Cook & friend gained upon their research and subsequent trip abroad must not have faired well enough with the experts...

...especially if you consider the rediculous price of which "the" Mark McGwier home-run ball
commanded. I can not imagine how the owner of this ball feels now...upon Bary Bonds surpassing the feat...:-(
