Titanic: First ever full-sized scans reveal wreck as never seen before

The dumbest question was we now may understand how the ship sunk! Yet no mention of the fact the ship hit an iceberg and put a hole in her a filled up with water and sunk!
I have to agree with you on the point you are making. For Atlantic Productions to say that by creating a digital twin of the wreck "is allowing science to completely rewrite everything we know about the tragedy" is a statement of ignorance on their part. What it does do is add to our knowledge about the wreck and the changes that have occurred over the years, and provides what I would call a view of the forest rather than just trees.

I think the stern looks much worse than in many previous photos. The poop deck area is starting to come down at an alarming angle. I thought that and the engines would be the last recognisable parts of the ship

Yes they are great made up photos, but I wish they had a proper Titanic historian giving the talk and not bundling amateur who come across having not study the history of Titanic.
However I do have a question which has be shown before, that is the 401 number on one of the propeller blade. Question how was that put on and has lasted so long to?

The hull numbers were either etched or stamped on. Titanic's propellers were made of bronze metal which have little or no iron, but they can react with oxygen. Which means a green patina aka a film will form on the metal protecting it, from further corrosion.

I suppose it depends upon, if having looked at the scans in the coming weeks/months they uncover something really groundbreaking

Fascinating details of these scan. The deterioration looks a lot worse to me on the upper decks around the bridge/radio room and just aft of those. Like its getting ready to fall into the hull. Whatever happened to the plan to go after the radio? If they plan on doing that still they better act quick. The stern definitely looks worse. Was cool to see the 401 on the prop. I wonder how the conspiracy people are going to spin that prop? (pun intended). Cheers.

It was abandoned in February 2021 due to the pandemic, and the fact that RMS Titanic Inc. had trouble raising funds. Whether they decide to pick it up again and attempt to retrieve the wireless set, remains to be seen. See this article for more:

Ok thanks for the article. Either I missed it or had forgotten. One thing I never really understood is how one country can take over a wreck in international waters especially when that ship was from another country. I guess when you have the most powerful navy in the world you can do whatever you want. Cheers.

What happen to the first item found of Titanic of a boiler 1st September 1985, where it was to lead on in finding the ship.
Is it still there and which boiler was it?

I am fascinated that one of the propellers can be seen as when the Titanic was discovered in 1985 they were buried deep! How much more is no visible or now covered by the shifting sands of time?
Also am I alone in being irritated by the caption 'Radio Room'? It was never called that at the time. You sent Marconigraphs! Radio is a relatively modern term, especially in UK where wireless was more common.

Good ask! Is it now buried in silt? Was it a single ended or double ended boiler? Being cast it is probably more durable than the steel of the hull.
