Just thought I'd post this for those who missed it or for our overseas friends.

A television show on the Fox network just aired. "The Ultimate Auction" sold on-the-air such items as a full Pachycephalosaurus skeleton and the
original to Clement Moore's "T'was The Night Before Christmas".

They also sold a letter, written by 2nd Class passenger Clear Cameron to her friend Janet, which was posted from the Titanic (dated April 11, 1912) at Queenstown. This same letter - the text of it - can be seen in Ted and Dinah Dowding's book "Clear To America - by Titanic and beyond".

The letter sold for $75,000.00 to a private buyer in Japan.

Best regards,
Cook

Good stuff, Cook - Ted told me he was hoping that the publicity surrounding the auction might result in some new leads on Clear's final fate. Here's hoping...

Thanks, Ing!

I hadn't thought of that. Let's hope it does aspire some other relative, or at least someone with knowledge of Clear's history, to contact him. Even news about Nellie, her traveling companion, would be welcome, I'm sure. I know her nephew is still trying to find out where Nellie (born Ellen) died.

Best regards, as always
