Dennis Foley (Tophatter)
In the late 50s-early 60s, I saw a TV show I think was titled "Way Out" with supernatural-type plots similar to Twilight Zone/One Step Beyond. The plot involved a nerdy guy (let's call him John) who is going to marry a bleached blonde tootsie (played by Connie Ford, the mother in "Summer Place"), who is obviously marrying for his money. John leaves the room while Connie naps. While dreaming (or not) a ghostly woman in old-fashioned garb is suddenly standing next to her bed (I remember this being very scary and very effective)and questions Connie's true love for John. Spotting a hustler here, the ghost beckons Connie to join her on a trip, "First Class, by sea", I remember her saying. Connie resists but to no avail. When John returns, Connie is dying and garbles someting about a woman in turn-of-centruy clothing and drops some other clue. Connie kicks and a doctor later pronounces that she has drowned and by salt water. How could that be, everyone in the room asks? Our hero chokes up when asked of any connections to this woman/ghost. He then announces that his mother died on the Titanic. Anybody see this one????
