Titanic Quiz

I took the quiz. Didn't do as well as you.

I disagree with two of the answers however. lol the one with the ship breaking up has to be wrong. Also, the one about what the captain did. I could have swore that I read somewhere that he changed to a slightly more southerly course. Although I have been wrong before.

Thanks,
Kendra

Yeah the quiz is bogus in at least the one question about the ship breaking up. The answer it's looking for is not what I understand to have caused the ship to "snap in half".

I got the question about what the Captain did wrong too. I too could have sworn he altered course slightly.

I didn't do so well. :-(

I only got 13 right.

I was thinking that money would have been worth more in 1912 and equated accordingly.

Also missed the one about the ship breaking up. I think that's debatable.

Some of the questions and answers were a bit ambiguous and questionable , such as I believe the Captain did alter course to some extent by going a bit further south before making the turn.

But it was interesting.

Thanks, Joe !

Thanks for the reinforcement Robert, and Matthew! I was slightly upset, but now that I know it was the quiz and not me (thanks Michael), I feel better. I feel smarter, even. I know that all of the information I have absorbed isn't for nothing, because the people that made the quiz didn't do their research. So there! Na na na na boo boo! Pardon my child-like jubilation.

Thanks,
Kendra

The beef that I had with that question is even if the steel was brittle for being so cold, the ship still broke in half because she was sinking at the bow. The brittle steel might or might not have hastened it, but the root problem was that she was sinking by the bow in the first place. grrrrrr!

It would seem that this quiz got it's "facts" straight out of one of the Discovery Channel documentaries involving brittle steel. A couple of the other questions seemed taken verbatim from one of the docs I have and was just watching recently, though I can't for sure recall which documentary it was or what the questions were. I'll look at it again later and try to pinpoint it.
