Titanic The Mission

Originally named "We Built Titanic", this 5 part series explores the period techniques used in building the Titanic. For the series, key items from the ship are replicated using these methods.

The series is produced in the UK for Channel 4, but also funded by National Geographic with plans to have it screened overseas. I, however can not tell you when non UK residents will see the series on their network.

I acted as one of the historical advisors/consultants, mainly for episode two which see's the building of a perfect 16 ton replica of Titanic's centre anchor. We even went ahead and hauled via cart and 20 horses through the streets of Dudley (UK) where the company of 'Noah Hingley & Sons' who supplied and fabricated the anchors and chains for the Titanic (and her sisters) were originally based.

Episode 1 — Building The Hull- Belfast —TX is Monday 27th Sept @ 9pm

Episode 3 — Electricity and the dinner at Shugborough - TX is Monday 11th October @ 9pm

Episode 4 — Building the Smoking Room and the third class cabin — TX is Monday 18th October @ 9pm

Episode 5 — Safety (Marconi story, fireworks and Southampton engineers memorial) TX is Monday 25th October @ 9pm
