Twins on the Titanic

Hi Delia-
It is good to find a 'Twin' thread
Happy
I am an identical twin and am also trying to find information about any relations that may have sailed on the Titanic.

That is very tragic what happened to Officer Wilde over the death of his wife and twins (girls or boys?). I am assuming she died as a result of complications with the pregnancy. Can you shed some light on this, Inger?

Lilian Asplund, Who passed on quite recently, was a Titanic Twin, I believe.

Yes, her twin brother was Carl. They were obviously not identical '-)

Hulda Vestrom (14) had an identical twin sister names Johanna Maria, who stayed in Sweden with her parents.

Further more on the Vestrom twins: Hulda was to join a relative in America, where she would work as a servant girl. Her identical twin sister, Johanna was ill and so would join Hulda at a later date. Due to other distant relatives leaving, Hulda would travel with them and without her sister. It would be weeks before Johanna knew the fate of her sister.

Now, as an identical twin myself, i find it rather interesting that Hulda would leave her sick twin. And i believe Johanna would have "felt " Hulda's death. I feel things with my twin all the time.

Quite sad to see identical twins seperated my death >.<

I believe Petar and Jovic Cacic were also twins. Both 17 ... 3rd class passengers. Both went down with the ship and not recovered.

Really nice to know that the daughter from Captain Smith also was a mother of twins :)

Kate and Alice (b. 1987) and Alice (b. 1888) weren't twins. They were adopted, so most likely weren't blood related.

Lightoller's two brothers may have been twins. They were born in 1864 and their names were James Henry and Richard Ashton. James died in 1864 and Richard in 1874.

Frederick James was his father
