Two Titanic films on TV

Hi. A month ago or so, I saw two consecutive Titanic films right after each other very late at night. Well, I have a couple of questions. I hope I remember right, but the men-who constructed the ship said they saw many, many shooting stars when Titanic was completed, which they thought might mean something, was it a sign ? They questioned. Again, on the night She was sinking, the survivors said THEY saw quite a number of falling stars. Now, the thing is that these things can be seen from Earth every 70 or 80 years or so, not 2 or 3. Who was right ? Were there people giving misleading information ? Or, did it really happen this way ? Poor Titanic, you were definitely doomed. I barely remember now ANYTHING from the movies, they were so long ago. So I think that's it, no more questions, though I KNOW I have some more.

Every summer at summer camp, shooting stars were visible. I watched them every year. They were plentiful in July and August every year. I don't think this business of 70 or 80 years applies to shooting stars (meteorites) but to comets.
