It is likely for me, that the not identified
body #44
Steward, age estimated 21, with the marks:
F.W.L or F.W.I on clothings, is: FOX.W.T age 28.

NO. 44. - MALE. - ESTIMATED AGE, 21. - HAIR, LIGHT.

CLOTHING - Stewards coat with blue pants' white shirt, marked " F. W. I."

EFFECTS - Only things found were keys marked "C deck linen locker."

STEWARD.

Mr W. T. Fox, 28, was born in Plymouth.

When he signed-on to the Titanic, on 6 April 1912, he gave his address as Totton, (Hampshire). His last ship had been the Romance. As a third class steward he received monthly wages of £3 15s.

Fox died in the sinking. His body, if recovered, was never identified.

Interesting...

I originally had William Frank Janaway down as a suggestion for #44, but on reflection, Fox comes closer to the initials. However, mine is a complete stab in the dark. For the reasons Geoff wisely pointed out, it could have been anyone.

Interesting also,
But, Janaway in 35 years,
It makes a lot and
the evaluation one of 21 years?

Mr William Frank Janaway, 35, was born in Hampshire.

True, but Richard Frasar White was only 21 and yet the body description gives an estimated age of 37.

OK, Ben,
then which of both:
Fox or Janaway with the light hair?
For me it is the youngest normally

Also think about that key to a C Deck linen locker. If anything, that may be the biggest hint. How many linen lockers are there on C deck? I see quite a few in first class sections and one in the firemen's mess. Who would have access to any one of them in first class? A pantryman, a boots steward, a bath steward, the telephone operator? The estimated age seems too young to be a first class bedroom steward, a group almost entirely composed of men over 30. I don't think the initials are going to help at all as they don't seem to match anyone.
