Washington DC Southwest Waterfront will be undergoing changes

The Southwest Washington DC Waterfront, which includes the Women's Titanic Memorial, is under planning review by the National Capitol Revitalization Corporation (http://www.ncrcdc.com/main/news/) and the DC Office of Planning. The area including the statue is due to become incorporated into a new Cultural Building and Civic Park complex. Thanks for the info, Lee. Do you know of any plans to move the memorial? I know it was moved to the waterfront from it's original location on the Mall many years ago.

Actually, it's original location is where the Kennedy Center is now - that's why it was moved. They'll be keeping the memorial as is, but the great thing is with the new development around it, a lot more people will actually become aware there is such a thing!

That's great news! It really is a beautiful monument. I got some nice photos of it last year.
