Weather patterns

There are conflicting stories about the weather during the voyage. On April 12, Daisy Speddon's diary said rainy. Jakob Johannson's said sunny. On the 14th Johannson said it rained part of the day. Any definitive ideas on the weather?

All I know for sure is that it was clear and cold Sunday night to Monday morning. Fast changes in the weather at sea are very common especially since a ship is constantly on the move from one place to another. I've seen it often enough myself...especially on days when a ship I was on cruised through and past squall lines with large areas of clear in between only to run into more rain and/or fog later on.

Cordially,

I don't have the reference handy, but I recall that Captain Lord, who was some miles ahead of Titanic, logged showers during April 14th. It seems reasonable that Titanic may have had a little rain too.

As Mike says the sea can have very patchy weather. Only yesterday I was sailing in bright sunshine while a heavy shower of rain passed ten miles or so away.
