What did the do first Unpack or wave at the people

If you did end had a maid, was it the steward (who escorted you to your cabin) who unpack't your stuff, or would he say that he would send someone ells up to unpack?

(Sorry for all this questions but I really need to know.)

There's a bit about this sort of thing in Violet Jessop's Titanic Survivor. She describes the general pandemonium on sailing days and the trouble stewards had getting luggage to the right place. One thing that drove her nuts was the way some women would arrive with great bundles of flowers. They'd expect the ship to provide vases, which it did, but not ten per cabin. My impression from her book is that stewards only brought the luggage to the cabins, though, as they depended so much on tips, they may have done a bit more if asked.

I have a question that has not a thing to do with this certain thread, but a question nonetheless, does anyone remember a "Titanic" movie in which she was raised as a whole. It is either an early 80's or late 70's flick. Anyway it goes to show that a breakup of the Titanic into 2 pieces is still a relatively newly found fact.

Hallo Louie -

The movie would be 'Raise the Titanic', based on the Clive Cussler novel of the same name. If you go into the movie threads, you'll find discussions on this flick.

Confirmation of the break-up came with the discovery of the wreck. Up until then, there had been conflicting reports. From the POV of a film maker, it would work better to raise an intact ship - that way she could be shown towed into NY, for example!

I wouldn't say "Newly found" as reports about this date back to 1912 and are in the official record of the inquiries themselves. You may want to read Bill Wormstedt's The Facts which goes into all of this. (Note that this article requires and Adobe Acrobat Reader to read.)
