What Do You Want In A Website

Hello everyone,

I plan on creating a Titanic website based on the historical events, and I want to make it something fun that everyone will enjoy.

I am wondering: what do YOU want to see on a Titanic site? Just curious.

Thanks-Brandon

Brandon,
I admire you for creating a web site; as there are so many already. For what my opinion is worth, I think it's important to dispel myths. The vast majority of web sites out there contain the "generic" myths. I think you should concentrate on one specific area.

just my humble opinion...

Hello,

Thanks for the ideas. Dean mentioned that there are all ready many Titanic-dedicated websites, and I got to thinking: there aren't that many about the Britannic, are there? Perhaps that's the way for me to go.

Thank you ver much!

-Brandon

Brandon, concentrating on the myths would be a nice touch, and an important one. Likewise with the Britannic too, as she isn't called the "Forgotton Sister" for nothing Either way, you have a lot of research to do.

The good news is that there are a lot of people hare on ET who can help out.

Cordially,
Michael H. Standart

Hi Brandon

If your website contains good spelling and a refreshing lack of superlatives such as amazingly, gorgeous, brilliant, magical, sensational etc etc. it will be superbly brilliant!!

What about the evolution of the design of White Star ships? It would be interesting to see how they came from the old Oceanic to the Titanic.

Regards

Sam

I would love to see a site depicting the entire interior of the ship. I would love to walk down Scotland Road and on the upper decks to actually get acquainted with where everything was in relation to everything

Hi Stacey:
How's the Titanic Lisa Fernandez? If you haven't been there before, pack up your hubbie and son and visit the L.A. Maritime Museum in San Pedro. There's a huge (I think it's about 17ft. long) model of the Titanic built by Fr. Pirrione that will give you a good feel for the inside of the ship. There's also one that same size of the Lusitania, and hundreds of smaller models of everything from sailing ships to Navy craft. All that for a $1.00 minimum donation.

It has been forever and a year since i really have done a lengthy post. Ive been much too caught up with my genealogy to really give sufficient time to Titanic. Well im creating a new site for Titanic and I plan on meeting the standards of you guys at ET. I assure you that since this is my first site it wont be the greatest but i plan on doing my best. Please let me know what you'd like.

Best Regards,
Cliff Johnson

For Poseidon's sake, make it something new, based on new research.

Since you are in the USA, how about a really full account of the US civil claims? Nobody has ever really gathered all the material on these. It's scattered about in various archives and newspaper reports. Get some facts about the judges and lawyers involved. I believe Judge Mayer was somewhat controversial. I challenge you to better my own account, which is based on newspaper reports and court records supplied by an American friend. The project would require genuine effort but it would earn you a good reputation. It might even tie in with school work.

Anything but just another account of the sinking with the same old pictures and the usual errors!

Clifton, take note of the wise words of Dave Gittins post, as he has put the hammer right on the nail here.

From my own perspective, I would love to see more in the way of new material focusing directly upon the American version of the Relief Fund.

I don't care what people say, I still remain optimistic knowing that somewhere, on that side of the pond, there's loads of new paperwork waiting to be discovered. It'll be like opening a Pandora's box.

Good luck with your search.

A.W.
