Do you have an all time favorite Titanic photograph? Ive very keen on the Beken photo, the stern shot. The deatil is so crisp, one can practically hear the ship sail by. Another favorite was an unbublished one I saw sell on Ebay- a STERN shot of Titanic pulling away from Southampton dock.

ive never seen the stern view at southampton, is it possible someone has it to display as I'd love to see it.
I have many favourite images of the ship.
Think one that springs to mind in the picture of her in Queenstown taken at the stern where you can clearly see both the name and port of Liverpool.

Don,

That photo you refer to was not the last photo taken of the Titanic ... at least out of those publicly known. There was an article in last year's (September 2001) Irish Titanic Historical Society journal by Sen Molony that shows and has a 17 page article about the last photo and the man who took it. It shows the Titanic stopped, dropping off the pilot.

I can't say as I have any particular favourites, but the crisp and clear photos in Birth of the Titanic score high in my book, as do the remarkable photos taken by Fr. Brown.

I like the good Friday ones (P84 of 'TITANIC VOICES') With all the flags. Also It's not strictly of the ship but the one on page 118 of Lightoller and Murdoch looking out the bridge wing (i think) Is one of my favourites.

Katherine

Do you think there could be photos of Titanic, Olympic or Britannic lying hidden away in lofts, cellars, etc? I'd say its possible

Greg and others, I'd say there are definitely photos somewhere still to be discovered. I've seen a few rare photos of the Titanic never before published. Those have been found, but they're not published for the public consumption. New photos keep popping up all the time, so I'm sure there are plenty still "waiting" to be found.

My favourite Titanic photo is the one of the ship moving away from Berth 44 at Southampton's White Star Dock (the one with all the smoke and the tugs, later a scene in James Cameron's movie). I have had it scanned, blown up and now it hangs proudly on my wall next to my poster of the Aquitania and another of the Imperator.
Talk to you later,
