What's the funniest thing you've seen in a Titanic film

When Jack and Rose meet just before the dinner scene at the Grand Staircase, in the background, this exchange occurs:

(Paraphrasing)
Cal Hockley: You know, there are over 7000 tons of Hockley steel in this ship
Ruth: Oh, which part?
Cal: The right part, of course.

Thereby implying that through cutting corners in business, Caladan Hockley was responsible for the sinking of the Titanic and the famous weak steel. I'm surprised I've never seen a reference to this line on this forums.

Actually, I don't recall that quote. I've watched that film many times (for the ship, the script is friggin' awful). My god I'm oblivious.

My favourite funny scene is the poor steward trying to do his job. He tells Jack and Rose that they've damaged the ship and they'll be held responsible unaware of the situation.

I don't know, it's just funny. I don't laugh at people jumping off the World Trade Centers, but for some reason I laugh at a guy hitting a manganese bronze propeller.

I seem to remember at the Academy Awards the when Titanic '97 was nommed, the clip of "propeller guy" was shown and named checked in the host's parody song. I was 18 and it was over 20 years ago so i may be mis-remembering.

I've always found one moment funny. In Cameron's film, when Jack and Rose kiss just before the collision, the lookouts are distracted by their kiss. It seems that it was the main characters who distracted everyone, and thereby killed fifteen hundred people.

I laughed out loud when Jack tells Rose "Try a few practice swings over there!" when she tries to free him in Cameron's 1997 joke. I think it sums up the entire film...........in one swing.

Cameron '97:

The very working class labourer father and Cora the very Southern Californian suburban 7 year old daughter is somewhat amusing.

Even a "Cathy Hargreaves in The Sweeney" fake Irish accent would have been better than the nothing tried at all that Alex Owens-Sarno gave us.

It was not really funny as such but the "teach me to spit like a man!" scene in Cameron's film was certainly the stupidest scene of them all, even counting the 1943 "Nazi" Titanic movie.
That’s pretty bad, when the 1943 film gets surpassed on the stupidometer! I wonder if the”Nazi” movie had anything to do with encouraging the myth that Titanic was trying for a transatlantic speed record?
