Where would the StewardsStewardesses have stayed

I am really wondering. I am writing something, I need to know this information. If they were serving the 1st class, would they have stayed in the first class area? Same with 2nd/3rd? Or did they have a area just for them?

Hi Cara,

The stewards and stewardess' of Titanic had their own quarters along with the rest of the crew on the lower decks. The stewards and stewardess' on duty had their own cabins on each deck of all classes.

Best Regards,

Brian

Cara, as Brian said the stewards were quartered in the main accommodation area for victualling crew, on the port side of E deck in large dormitory-style rooms. You wouldn't find any stewardesses sleeping down there, though. They were provided with two or three berth cabins in various locations among the 1st and 2nd Class passenger cabins, often in spaces next to stairwells or toilets which wouldn't have been too popular with paying customers.
.

The stewards and stewardess, mainly first class, stayed with others in cabins on F Deck. They stayed in groups depending on what they did. This also effected cooks, waiters, etc.

Matt,

You should read Bob's post. 1st and 2nd Class stewards were generally in large rooms on the port side of E-deck. - 3rd Class were on F-deck. - The stewardesses [most of whom were in 1st Class] were in small 2 or 3-berth rooms within the main passenger areas.

Under Cabin Numbers you can read the posts: Did the Stewards and stewardesses sleep together; and Cabins of crew.
You should also look at the deck plans on this web-site.
