Who designed RMS Titanic

Andy,

Thomas Andrews was the head designer at Harland and Wolff shipyards in Belfast. He was aboard the Titanic during her voyage with his notebook and ships plans to make minor improvements to the ship that couldn't be seen merely on paper. We know of a few of the changes he wanted to make to Titanic in the coming months, such as reducing the size of the reading and writing room by adding more staterooms, the staining of wicker furniture in some areas he felt could be changed, the number of screws in the stateroom coathooks, etc. These were a few of the things he would contemplate changing. Andrews died in the sinking and his notebook and plans were lost. As a matter of fact, during one of Olympic's refits, the reading and writing room on that sister was reduced and staterooms added. Olympic also received some of Titanic's design implementations such as forward B-deck cabins that went outboard, and a äí€isian in 1913.

Hope this helps

Regards,

Dan

Edward Wilding was a naval architect at Harland and Wolff and was one of Titanic's designers. He travelled on Titanic from Belfast to Southampton.

He also testified at the British Board of Trade Enquiry into the disaster.

Does anybody know any more about this person's life?
