No, I was addressing something very specific that you said.

So what was the 'very specific' thing I said? I have already pointed out that it probably wouldn't have worked in the case of the Titanic.

Well that's pedantry. I was only addressing some of the reasons put up as to why it wouldn't work and which were wrong. You realise that some of us go boating and this sort of knowledge may prove useful?
