William Hughes & Thomas Morgan

Dec 22, 2005
A number of years ago I found two grave stones commemorating two Titanic "victims", but I have checked my list's of "survived" and "lost", and they do not exist! The first is :

WILLIAM THOMAS HUGHES ("Who entered into rest
April 15th, 1912, by the foundering of the
S.S. Titanic, aged 36 years).

The other is :

CHARLES F. MORGAN (Who was drowned through the
foundering of the S.S. Titanic, 15th
April,1912, aged 40 (?)

Can anyone confirm if these people were on board, please ?

Yes they were. - See their biographies on this web-site.
William Thomas Hughes - Assistant Second Steward
Charles Frederick Morgan - Assistant Storekeeper

I note that the US Senate List has H Hughes and W Morgan. - I had been given to understand that his name was CF Bird, but although his widow and children were paid out in the name of Bird all PRO documentation is in the name of CF Morgan.
