I just found this site, and would like some help. My grandfather William Robert Ryan was on the ship Ivernia, white star lines, and he passed by the Carpathia, when they and the Ivernia picked up passengers from the Titanic. My grandfather was chief steward, I have limited information on this, He was at sea , from Liverpool, and also worked for standard Oil of New Jersey. He was born in 1886, in Waterford, Ireland. I do have the ship passenger list. Of the family. He apparently died at sea. thank you for any information Dorothy Ryan Walton

    Hello Dorothy, Welcome to ET!

I'm sorry to say this but only the Carpathia picked up the Titanic survivors. No other ship did with the exception of picking up the dead or lifeboats spotted at sea weeks or months later.
  3. By April 14/15th 1912 the Ivernia (which as the Carpathia belonged to the Cunard Line) was at Trieste.
