Hello! I live in Ottawa, On., Canada which has a number of Titanic related history, some of which I wrote about here on my blog:

The Ottawa Bound Furniture That Went Down With Titanic

The furniture for Ottawa's Chateau Laurier Hotel and the sculpted bust in its lobby are connected to the ill-fated Titanic.

I am trying to uncover details about the wood used for the furniture used aboard the ship. Rumour has it that it was sourced from a town south of Ottawa called Kars, On. If anyone has further information on this it would be appreciated....was the furniture made in Belfast using Canadian wood from Kars? perhaps someone knows the answer. Thanks in advance!
