RMS Titanic, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Premier Exhibitions, Inc. (NASDAQ:PRXI), has announced that it will conduct its first research and recovery expedition at the wreck site of the RMS Carpathia.

Comment: Well worth a seperate thread of it's own. I just hope that RMSTI is forthcoming about what they find so we have something to talk about.

I read somewhere that RMST were looking to retrieve the silver Loving Cup from the Carpathia. If so, they should check records a bit better....its at the Liverpool Maritime Museum!

>>its at the Liverpool Maritime Museum!<<

Think they'll use the MIR's to retreive it?

Beings that the article is headed: FRANCE & USA, RMSTI...I do not think you will find a MIR on the CARPATHIA wrecksite. I am certain that as with TITANIC's exploration/artifact retrieval it will be IFREMER's NAUTILE working the site. Aside, P.H. Nargeolet's name is mentioned in the aforementioned article.

>>I note they are still going on about the Loving Cup.<<

Those guys are going to be in for a shock when they find out that all you have to do to see that thing is to motor over to Liverpool to see it.

Just heard back from the team doing the Carpathia wreck trip- I emailed them about the Loving Cup, and they'll pass my info onto the head of the team, Jeff.

"We are currently anchored in the Scilly Isles the wind is too strong at present to get out. Interesting info, the item we are most keen to find is the bell."

Indeed, if you go to Museum (THOROUGHLY recommended - in addition to the Titanic, there is the Lusitania, Empress of Ireland and World War 1 and 2 exhibits), go to the builders model of Olympic/Britannic/Titanic, look at the port bow, turn to the left 135 degrees, and the cup is right in front of you.

Many of the bars in Liverpool have excellent maritime photos, paintings etc., and there is even a bar called The White Star, with a rather sorry model of the Titanic on the top shelf

The CARPATHIA has already been filmed during it's initial discovery. But to see filming via the IFREMER's NAUTILE in regards to this expedition is going to be a whole different & exciting treat!

POSTSCRIPT...on second thought I guess the NAUTILE will not be applied on this particular expedition. Perhaps since P.H. Nargeolet is also a slated member...a sub from his AQUA+ society shall be deployed.

ADDENDUM...JULES & JIM are the submersible rovers
of my aforemention. In previous expeditions they had been deployed on the BRITTANIC & YAMATO, of which Commander Nargeolet was an expedition member of both.
