Announces Permanent Retirement From Boxing Activities
---
WESTHAMPTON BEACH, L. I., June 22---Enzo Fiermonte, light- heavyweight boxer and husband of Mrs. Madeline Force Astor Fiermonte, today announced his retirement from the ring "forever."
He made the announcement to reporters at the big oceanfront house which he and his wife leased recently and where he started training in preparation for a fight New York with Maxie Rosenbloom, light-heavyweight champion. This contest was recently refused approval by the State Boxing Commission.
"To get ready to fight, I had to give up a lot of things," said Fiermonte. "The rigors of training are not worth the results to be obtained from the bout."
