Frank Karun, a survivor of the Titanic, who risked his life to save his little daughter Elizabeth, offered to make another sacrifice on her account.

Two weeks ago the child was burned, her clothing ignited from a flash of kerosene used in building a kitchen fire.

Doctors decided this afternoon that extensive skin grafting alone could save her life. Her father requested the physicians to take the necessary cuticle off his body and this will be done.

[Note: Karun had several children and so this may not refer to Manca but other reports state the child injured was the Titanic survivor]
