He and a Brother, the Late Dr. Henry Frauenthal, Were Survivors of Titanic
Isaac Gerry Frauenthal, a retired lawyer, who had been in general practice in New York for many years, died yesterday at this residence, 1,859 Madison Avenue, of heart disease, from which he had suffered for the last two years. He was a bachelor, 64 years old. Services will be held in the Funeral Church, Broadway and Sixty-sixth Street, at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning.
With the death of Mr. Frauenthal, his brother, Dr. Herman C. Frauenthal of 151 West Eighty-sixth Street, becomes the last survivor of the nine children of the late Samuel Frauenthal, merchant, who went to Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in 1848 from Germany, later established a successful business in this city, and died here in 1922 in the house at 1,859 Madison Avenue at the age of 94. One of the children was the late Dr. Henry Frauenthal, noted orthopedic surgeon, founder of the Hospital for Joint Diseases, who was killed by a fall from his bedroom window in March, 1927.
Mr. Frauenthal was one of the executors of his brother Henry's will. He and Dr. Henry Frauenthal were on the Titanic together and were rescued by the Carpathia after spending several hours in an open boat. Mr. Frauenthal was a graduate of the Law School of New York University.
