Mrs. Helen N. Mathey of The Great Road died on Tuesday in Princeton Hospital at 72 years of age. She was the wife of Dean Mathey.
Mrs. Mathey was on the board of directors of the Stetney Champ Committee, East Side Settlement House of New York City, a member of the Colony Club of New York, Present Day Club, Princeton Garden Club, and was a survivor of the Titanic sinking.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Karl H. Behr of Princeton; Peter H. and James H. Behr of Mill Valley, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Samuel Pettit of Wilmington, Del.; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held for the immediate family on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. at her home with the Rev. Ernest Gordon officiating. Interment will be in Princeton, under the direction of the Mather Funeral Home.
Mr. and Mrs. Mathey gave the building of the recently completed Princeton Day Schools, which will open Tuesday, Sept. 14, on The Great Road.
