News was received by cable from England yesterday of the loss of Mr. Arthur Gordon McCrae in the wreck of the Titantic. Mr McCrae was the youngest son of Mr F.P.G. McCrae, formerly inspector of the Bank of Australasia, Sydney. He was educated at the Sydney Grammar School and at St Paul's College, in the Sydney University, where he graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Engineering. After taking his degree he received an appointment at a gold-mine in West Africa, from which he proceeded to the post of assistant-manager of the Spasky copper-mine, Akmolinsk, Siberia. Mr McCrae was travelling en route for Canada by the ill-fated Titanic with the object of visiting some friends in that country. He was only 30 years of age. He had many friends in Sydney who will mourn his loss. Deep sympathy is expressed on every hand for the sorrowing parents and family.
