MRS. WELLS, TITANIC SURVIVOR, DIES AT 71

Mrs. Addie D. Wells, 71, one of the last area survivors of the Titanic disaster, died Friday in her home after a long illness.
   The English-born wife of the late Arthur H. Wells was one of 711 passengers who were rescued after the ocean liner struck an iceberg off Newfoundland in 1912.
   In recent years, she had lived at 876 Frederick Blvd. Her husband, Arthur H., died a year ago.
   Mrs. Wells was a past president of Irelawnee Chapter, Daughters of the British Empire and a member of the Canadian Legion Auxiliary. She lived in Akron 41 years.
   Mrs. Wells leaves three sons, Ralph L., Arthur L., and Charles O. of Akron and seven grandchildren.
   Services will be at 3 PM Tuesday in the Billow Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Allen C. Blackman will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Peace Cemetery.
   Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 PM Sunday.
