MRS. LINA PENTILLA PASSES TO BEYOND

Mrs. Lina Pentilla, whose maiden name was Heikkinen, passed away on September 9 at a hospital in Salem at the age of 57 years, seven months and 14 days.
Mrs. Pentilla was born in Jyvaskyla, Finland January 25, 1886. She came to America in 1912 and was a passenger on the ship Titanic, that struck the big iceberg enroute to New York. She was one of the few survivors saved. She was in a life boat some time before rescue was made.
From New York she came west to Portland. She was married to Jacob Pentilla in Vancouver, Washington, on April 21, 1914. To this union was born one daughter. For a while Mr. and Mrs. Pentilla lived in Roselodge, Ore., but for the past 25 years she has been a resident of Clatskanie. Her husband passed away nearly four years ago on November 17, 1939.
Mrs. Pentilla had been ailing the past few months.
She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter, Mrs. G. H. Perry and two grandchildren, Rosalee and Carolyn, in Portland and two sisters in Finland.
Funeral services were held at the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church on Sunday afternoon with commitment in the Stewart Creek Cemetery.
