I, Jennie H. Emerson, of Racine, Wisconsin, being of
sound mind, memory and understanding, do hereby make,
publish and declare this my last will and testament,
hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time
heretofore made.

FIRST: I direct that all of my just debts and funeral
expenses be paid by my executor as soon as possible
after my death.

SECOND: I should like to have the Strouf Funeral Home
conduct my funeral providing a steel vault, if
possible, otherwise a concrete vault. I direct that
my executor inscribe the date of my death upon the
marker which I have already erected on my lot in the
Catholic Cemetery in Racine, Wisconsin, such work to
be done if possible by Schaefer & Company, 2418 West
Forest Home Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

THIRD: All the rest, residue and remainder of my
estate, I give, devise and bequeath to my dear
husband, Elmer M. Emerson, and I appoint him executor
of this will, without bond.

FOURTH: However, in the event that my said husband
shall not survive me, or in the event that it shall be
impossible to determine which of us died first, then I
dispose of my estate as follows:

(a) I give and bequeath to St. Mary's Church of
Racine, Wisconsin the sum of Five Hundred Dollars.

(b) I give and bequeath the sum of Five Hundred
Dollars to Jennie Freehafer (nee Weill, my godchild)
if she shall survive me.

(c) All the rest, residue and remainder of my
estate I give, devise and bequeath to St. Mary's
Hospital of Racine, Wisconsin, requesting that part of
such residue be used for the purpose of furnishing a
room, and the balance of said fund to be used to
provide free occupancy of said room and free care for
needy patients. I request that a plate be placed upon
the door of said room which will bear the words, "In
Memory of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Emerson." It is not my
intention hereby to establish a trust fund, but rather
an outright gift, for I have complete confidence that
those in charge of the hospital will see that my
wishes are carried out insofar as it is reasonably
convenient and possible to do so.

(d)In the above event I hereby nominate and appoint
Henry L. Janes, 1032 College Avenue, Racine,
Wisconsin, as executor of this my last will and
testament, and direct that no bond be required of him.

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this 9th day of March, A.D. 1950, at Racine,
Wisconsin.
