Mrs. Selma A. (Johnson) Asplund, 90, of 39 Fairlawn Circle, Shrewsbury, died Wednesday night in St. Vincent Hospital, a few hours after being admitted.
Born in Smaland, Sweden, she moved to Kansas City, Mo., 71 years ago, and to Worcester a year later. She lived in Shrewsbury 13 years.
She was a member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church of Shrewsbury, Victoria Lodge, Vasa Order, and Worcester Lodge, Scandinavian Fraternity of America.
Her husband was the late Carl O. Asplund.
She leaves a son, Felix R. Asplund; a daughter, Miss Lillian D. Asplund, both of Shrewsbury, and a sister, Mrs. Elin Carlson of Worcester.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Lindquist Funeral Home, 36 Butler St. Burial will be in Old Swedish Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. today.
