The book is partially based on this paper of course: Evolution of Titanic Breakup Theories and the Accepted SNAME MFC Theory (2022)
Eugene Vladimirovich, thank you for posting notice of this to the board despite the presumed language barrier. If it could be ordered from the US at any point I would order a copy in Russian, which I read passably. But I am not sure even that is possible now. This work looks very interesting. I like discussing engineering matters of the loss of the Titanic, though unfortunately a certain strange conspiracy theorist drove me off this board some years ago. The only way to deal with those people in methodical precision in facts and from what I can see this work is very encouraging in that regard.
Thanks mitfrc for your interest, it's flattering! (I don't know your real name, sorry!)
This is definitely most technical of all of my books so far. However, please bear in mind that myself I'm not an engineer (my education is in the humanities), but I relied on consultations of professionals in the engineering field.
The main problem in ordering items from abroad today is payment. Earlier this year I managed to order a copy of the 2nd edition of my own book from the US (via Finland), but it was very long, difficult and expensive; not what I'm able to do on a regular basis.
I've sent you a private message with an introduction. Suffice to say, I started caring most about the humanities, but then realised I needed a job and switched to studying engineering. I had to start mathematics in remedial pre-algaebra, but somehow managed to get through differential equations and carry on to a Master's degree. Nonetheless, I still use things I learned through reading before I had my degree, and many things I read now from historical sources, to frame information and place it in the appropriate context. Unsurprisingly this has gotten me more into engineering technical management these days, but I guess it's what I'm suited for.
I figured payment would be the issue more than anything else; I think the post still gets through but if you can't pay for anything it's meaningless.
